Later on head towards Nagarkot which is famous for its Himalayan views- the Himalayan peaks at sunrise are a magnificent sight to behold.

Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (IATA: KTM), is the largest and only international airport in Nepal, located 5.5km east of the popular tourist neighborhood of Thamel.

Arrival at Kathmandu

On arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be greeted by our local representative who will transfer you to the hotel. Check into your hotel and refresh. Later proceed towards Pashupatinath. This is the place where holy saddhus pray and cremations on the Bagmati River are carried out. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Sightseeing

This morning after breakfast you will be taken for a visit of the Hindu culture in Nepal, Pashupatinath. This is the place where holy saddhus pray and cremations on the Bagmati River are carried out. We then continue to the holiest shrine for the Buddhist culture in Nepal, Bouddhanath, with its large stupa, this is the place where all devout Buddhists come for a pilgrimage. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Kathmnadu-Pokhara ( Approx 210 Kms/7 Hrs)

Morning after breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive towards Pokhara. On arrival check into your hotel and refresh. Overnight stay at Pokhara.

Pokhara Sightseeing

Morning after breakfast, proceed for the sightseeing of the city. Visit Bindebasini Temple. This is one of the oldest temples in Pokhara which was a part of Kaski Kingdom, the main deity of the temple, Goddess Durga, was brought from India. Later enjoy sightseeing to Devi’s fall and Gupteshwor Cave. Return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Pokhara.

Pokhara-Lumbini (Approx 270 Kms/8 Hrs)

Morning after breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive towards Lumbini. For millions of Buddhists the world over, it evokes a kind of holy sentiment akin to the significance of Jerusalem to Christians and Mecca to Muslims. Lumbini is the place where Lord Buddha - the apostle of peace, and the Light of Asia - was born. On arrival check into your hotel and refresh. Later visit the Lumbini Garden which consists of the birth place of Lumbini, various Bodh Vihars built by different countries such as Japan, Myanmar, Indonesia, USA to establish the Buddhist religion in the Garden. You will tour by a rickshaw for 3 hrs. Return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Lumbini.

Lumbini-Chitwan ( Approx 200 Kms / 5 Hrs)

Morning after breakfast head towards Chitwan. Chitwan is one of Asia's premier wildlife reserves. Overnight stay at Chitwan.

Chitwan Sightseeing

Today after breakfast, enjoy Jungle observation at Chitwan National park. The highlight being the Elephant Safari in the jungles. Other activities are Canoeing, Dugout canoe, Nature Walk and Bird Watching. Also experience walking through the forests with naturalists and watch the Native folk dances of the Terais. Overnight stay at Chitwan.

Chitwan-Nagarkot

Drive back to Kathmandu and then continue drive to Nagarkot. Nagarkot is situated 32 kilometers, 1.5 hrs drive east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,175 meters. The panoramic view of the major peaks including Mt. Everest can be seen from here. This place is also famous for viewing sunrise and sunset. Overnight at hotel.

Nagarkot-Airport/Deparutre

Drive straight to the international airport which is 1.5 hours drive approx from Nagarkot to board flight for onward journey.

Important Information
  • A valid Indian passport or an election Id is the only valid document for adults ( 18 yrs & above) for travel to Kathmandu by air. For children below the age of 18 years the school or college id suffices. The id should clearly reflect the traveller’s picture, school or college name, date of birth as well as the class in which the student is studying. Request that this be checked with Indian Immigration authorities at your end too.
  • Upon arrival in Kathmandu at the International Airport better known as “Tribhuwan International Airport”. After collecting your baggage there are Two Telephone companies known as “NCell & NTC ( Nepal Telecommunication). They have a Stall each. One Passport size photo and a copy of the passport will be required. One can purchase a Sim. Activation time is 10 mins on an average. Cost is Inr 150 per Sim which can be topped off as per requirement. It will be a 3G card.

Pokhara : The enchanting city with a population of around 95,000 has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panaromic views of Himalayan peaks. Pokhara is the most popular destination for visitors to Nepal. The city is also known as the center of adventure. Pokhara is also the base for some of most famous trekking circuits of Nepal. By itself surrounding area provides ample scope for short walk and day trips, suitable for children or weary trekkers, which can be made around the valley.

Lumbini - Lumbini is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas in modern Nepal. In the Buddha's time, Lumbini was a beautiful garden full of green and shady sal trees. Lumbini has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi Temple and several others which are still under construction. Many monuments, monasteries and a museum — the Lumbini International Research Institute — are also located within the holy site.

Chitwan National Park : It is a large and beautiful nature reserve occupying 932 sq. km. of land inhabitant of endangered royal Bengal tiger and the one-horned Indian rhino. There are more than 50 species of mammals in Chitwan including monkeys, tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild boar, hyenas, deer, elephants and rhinos. There are also 450 different species of birds and 67 species of butterflies.The main attraction of Chitwan is the Elephant Safari.

Nagarkot : Nagarkot is famous as one of the most scenic spots in the region, renowned for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas. It also offers an excellent view of the Indrawati river valley to the east. With a panoramic view of the Valley, it is described by visitors as a place whose beauty endures year round.

Shopping And Entertainment

There are numerous tourist shops on the main streets and in the hotel arcades brimming with tempting jewelry, statues, and other typical Nepalese handicraft. Each place has its specialty product which is unique. Bhaktapur, for instance, is the place to buy pottery. The Traditional Craftsman's Colony in Patan is a famous center for Nepalese handicraft. You may get carved-wooden items while at Patan. As for jewelry, buyers can opt for loose gems or custom-made items.

Best time to visit - From late September to early December when the air is fresh and sky is clear giving the best views of the mountains. Next season starts from end of February to mid April it is warm and dry. This season brings a second wave of visitors.

Festivals in Nepal - The Nepali year begins in mid-April and is divided into 12 months. Saturday is the official weekly holiday. Main annual holidays include the National Day, celebrated on the birthday of the king (28 December), Prithvi Jayanti (11 January), Martyr's Day (18 February), and a mix of Hindu and Buddhist festivals such as dashain in autumn, and tihar in late autumn. During Swanti, the Newars perform the Mha Puja ceremony to celebrate New Year's Day of the lunar calendar Nepal Sambat. Most of the festivals in Nepal are Hindu.
