Srinagar City - Srinagar is the summer capital of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated in the Kashmir Valley and lies on the banks of the Jhelum River. The city is famous for its Mughal gardens, lakes and houseboats. It is also known for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts and dry fruits.

Gulmarg - Gulmarg is a Hill station and a very popular Skiing destination. It is easily accessible from Srinagar by a 02 hours drive by car or bus. It is also very famous because of its "Gulmarg Gondola," one of the highest cable cars in the world, reaching 3,979 meters. Besides that Gulmarg has the highest green golf course in the world and outdoor sports.

**Sonmarg **- Also known as 'Meadow of Gold' is a beautiful flower-laden meadow in the majestic Himalayan mountain region. A town surrounded by breathtaking glaciers and serene lakes, located at a hefty altitude of 2,740 m above sea level. Sonamarg is the base camp for various trekking routes that lead to the Himalayan lakes of Vishansar, Krishansar, Gangabal and Gadsar Lake, stocked with Snow trout and Brown trout and Satsar, glacier-fed and surrounded by banks of alpine flowers. This is also an alternate route to Amarnath Yatra. Major attraction during the summer months is the Thajiwas Glacier.

Kargil - Kargil is a district of Ladakh region in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Kargil lies near the Line of Control facing Pakistani-Administered Gilgit–Baltistan to the west, and the mostly Indian-Administered Kashmir valley to the south. Zanskar is part of Kargil district along with Suru, Wakha and Dras valleys. Kargil district is nestled in the Himalayas, giving it a cool, temperate climate. Summers are warm with cool nights, while winters are long and cold with temperatures often dropping to −40 °C (−40 °F) with recorded temperatures of −60 °C (−76 °F) in the tiny town of Dras, situated some 56 km (35 mi) from the Kargil town. The Zanskar plateau is even colder, making it thus a near-uninhabitable place for humans, except for the hardy Khampas. The entire Kargil district is spread over 14,086 km2 (5,439 sq mi). The Suru River flows through the district.

Leh - Leh is located in the Indus river valley at a crossroads of the old trading routes from Kashgar, Tibet and Kashmir. Its importance as a trading town slowed down with the partition of British India. It's a small town, easy to get to most places by foot. The old town is a compact area of mud brick houses and narrow lanes directly to the east of Main Bazar. Changspa is the agricultural "suburb" northwest of the center, with many guesthouses.

Khardung La - Khardung La (la means pass in Tibetan) is a high mountain pass located in Ladakh region of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The local pronunciation is "Khardong La" or "Khardzong La," but, as with most names in Ladakh, the romanised spelling varies. The pass on the Ladakh Range lies north of Leh and is the gateway to the Shyok and Nubra valleys. The Siachen Glacier lies partway up the latter valley. Built in 1976, it was opened to motor vehicles in 1988 and has since seen many automobile, motorbike and mountain biking expeditions. Maintained by the Border Roads Organisation, the pass is strategically important to India as it is used to carry supplies to the Siachen Glacier.

Nubra Valley - Nubra is a tri-armed valley located to the north east of Ladakh valley. Diskit the capital of Nubra is about 150 km north from Leh town. Local scholars say that its original name was Ldumra (the valley of flowers). The Shyok River meets the Nubra or Siachan River to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakoram Ranges. The Shyok river is a tributary of the Indus river. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 ft. i.e. 3048 metres above the sea level. The common way to access this valley is to travel over the Khardung La pass from Leh town. Non-locals require an Inner Line Permit (obtainable in DC office, Leh town) to enter Nubra.

Pangong Lake - A beautiful lake with deep blue waters, surrounded by tall mountain peaks. This lake lies on the Indo - China boundary, with only one fourth of the lake being in India. The road to this lake passes through Chang-la, the world's third highest motorable road. It's a 4 & Half hour drive (149 Kms) from Leh to this place. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. After the success of 3 Idiots, this beautiful natural location has attracted more tourists from all over the world.
