Areas Covered

**Calangute **:- It is famous for its beach, the largest in north Goa, visited by thousands of domestic and international tourists alike. .It is also known as the Queen of Beaches. A must see when in Calangute is the Church of St. Alex, built in 1741. The beach offers water sport activities like parasailing and water skiing, among others.

**Baga **:- Baga a seaside town in Bardez Goa. it is famous for its beach that contains rows of shacks and fishing boats, and at high tide the beach is narrow. The beach is named after the Baga Creek, which empties into the Arabian Sea at the north end of the beach. Baga beach is also famous for parasailing, water sports (banana ride) and dolphin cruises.

Vagator :- The beach is the northernmost beach of Bardez taluka, Goa. The beach is split into two main beaches by a seaside headland which holds the car park and lots of stalls selling trinkets, clothes, soft drinks and snacks. Vagator beach is a must visit place for the party animals.

Anjuna :- Anjuna is a village in Goa, one of the twelve Brahmin comunidades of Bardez. It is famous for its Wednesday Flea Market. It is also famous for its trance parties.

**Sinquerim **:- Sinquerim is a coastal village in North Goa that includes the pristine Sinquerim Beach. It is famous for the imposing Fort Aguada that flanks it's southern tip and the scores of Bollywood movies that were shot here. It is a very popular tourist attraction and the massive Sunburn Music Festival happens here each December.

Dona Paula: It is located on the beautiful and famous sea stretch that spans from Panjim  Miramar and Dona Paula is a very famous area frequented by tourists. During the tourist season Dona Paula transforms into a crowded stretch which is otherwise a calm beautiful place during monsoons. Dona Paula is a former village, and tourist destination, in the suburbs of Panaji, Goa, India.

Miramar: It is the beach area of the Goan capital of Panjim, also known as Panaji and is one of the most visited beaches of Goa. Many people, mostly tourists, come to this beach every day. Originally named Porta de Gaspar Dias by the Portuguese, the name was then changed to Miramar.

Shopping And Entertainment

Goa, popularly known as 'the pearl of the east', is famous for its churches, age-old ruins, palm-fringed beaches, coconut groves, ferry rides, and bubbly folk music. Sun, sand and sea being the major attractions, Goa is a perfect heaven for the ones who need and want relaxation. Naturally, shopping should be of every tourist, along with the sightseeing attractions.

** **The excellent local handicrafts of Goa are easily the most popular souvenir items and include brassware, terracotta, shell work, crochet, carved furniture, bamboo work, papier-mache, etc. These are available in the Government Emporia and also at shops and stalls near the popular tourist spots. Another item which is on the list of every traveler to Goa is a pack of the famed cashew nuts. These are available practically everywhere. There are shops specialising in selling only cashewnuts.

Two of the most famous such market areas are Mapusa and Anjuna. The Friday Market at Mapusa, where stalls sell everything from curios and old coins to dried fish and spices.

The Wednesday Market at Anjuna Beach started by and for foreigners is an extremely lively spot where souvenirs, beachwear and handicrafts are sold at bargain prices.

The charm of shopping in Goa lies in bargaining to your heart's content in markets and shops until you finally bring down the price and make the purchase a worthwhile experience.

**Money **- The currency of India is Indian Rupees (INR). The currency exchange departments are present in almost every Indian city. You can also exchange your currency in 5 star and 4 star hotels, no other currency is valid except for Indian currency (INR).
