From Chennai you will drive to Kanchipuram which is the ancient capital of the Pallavas. Kanchipuram is famous for its beautiful silk sarees and glorious temples. Proceed to Mahabalipuram from Kanchipuram and wander around the town's great World Heritage–listed temples and carvings that inflame the imagination, especially at sunset.
On arrival at Chennai Airport/Railway Station, you will be greeted by our Local representative who will transfer you to the hotel. Check-in to the hotel. Later proceed for Local Sightseeing. After breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to Mahabalipuram. Enroute visit Kanchipuram the ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a golden city of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines is one of the seven most sacred cities of India. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silks. Visit its famous Temples, Kailash Nath Temple, Ekambareshwaram Temple, Sri Kamakshi Temple etc. Later proceed to Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram). On arrival at Mahabalipuram, check in to the hotel. Rest for the day or free time for your own activities. Overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.
After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram - built in 7th century) for Local Sightseeing. In this ancient seaside town, shrines and huge sculptures cut-out of rocks more than 1200 years back during the reign of Pallava Kings in the region can be seen. At the mouth of the river Palar, on large granite hall about 1 km in length from north to south is the site of many monuments, like The Descent of Ganges also known as Arjuna's Penance. This open air sculpture shows the descent of the holy River, Krishna Mandap, The Rathas and the Shore Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. After sightseeing our Local representative will transfer you to Chennai Airport/Railway Station for departure according to the flight/train timings after an ever memorable holiday in Tamil Nadu.
