Guwahati which is fondly known as the 'Scotland of the East' and is the capital of Meghalaya. The largest and most cosmopolitan city in the region, Guwahati serves as the starting block for most northeastern itineraries. It is the capital of Assam and lies between the banks of the Brahmaputra river and the foothills of the Shillong plateau. Also explore the land of the wild at the Kaziranga National Park which is also referred to as the home of the "One Horned Rhinoceros". Take a joyful ride on the elephant back and spot animals like Rhinos, Hogs Deers, Swamp Deer and Wild Buffalos. If you are lucky you will get to view the exotic tigers in their natural habitat.
On arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station you will be greeted by our Local Representative who will transfer you to Kaziranga National Park, the home of “One Horned Rhinoceros”, Check in at your hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky then tiger also. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park. Return to the resort for breakfast. In the afternoon enjoy jeep safari through the National Park. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
After breakfast proceed for Majuli is the largest fresh water mid-river deltoid island in the world. Initially be driven upto Nimatighat and then cross mighty Brahmaputra River by local ferry to reach Majuli. Arrive and check in the traditionally built cottages. In the afternoon explore Majuli, Dakhinpat Satra, Bengenaati Satra, Shamaguri Satra and Garamurh Satra collectively known as Satras - the birth place of Vaishnavite culture in Assam. Also visit the Missing tribal villages. In the evening visit nearby sand beach in Brahmaputra to witness the sunset. Overnight stay at Majuli.
After breakfast go for visit Pottery village and Mask making village. The masks of Majuli have uniqueness. These are made of clay, bamboo, cloth etc. Despite the size of the masks these are quite light in weight. Masks are made on all the characters of the Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Puranas. Later in the day get transferred to Jorhat. Again you would be crossing the mighty Brahmaputra River by Ferry. After reaching Nimatighat get driven to Jorhat. Arrive & check in to the hotel. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Jorhat.
After breakfast visit Tea-Garden & local market. Later drive to Guwahati. Arrive and check in at hotel. In the evening visit 'Kalakshetra', a place where Assamese history and culture is presented through Light and sound show. Return to hotel. Overnight stay at Guwahati.
After breakfast out to visit Kamakhya Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple, Nabagraha Temple, Assam State Museum, State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Regional Science Centre and Sukreswar Temple (The 6th Jyotirlinga of Shiva). Afternoon we suggest an optional tour of Golden sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra (Direct Payment by own). Overnight stay at Guwahati.
After breakfast check out from hotel & transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
