Bhalukpong–Bomdila (103Kms/05Hrs)

Early morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Bomdila (8,200 ft.) - the headquarter of West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh and also known for its Buddhist monasteries. This place has a cool climate. It has a lot of attractions for the visitors. En-route visit Tipi Orchidarium - a place with over 500 orchids, on display there are some rare species of orchids. Arunachal has largest range of orchids in the country. Later visit the Nag Temple. On Arrival Check in to the hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Bomdila.

Bomdila–Tawang (185Kms/07Hrs)

After breakfast check out from hotel. Visit Bomdila Monastery. After that proceed to Tawang (11,500 ft.). – the land of Monpa Tribes & major centre of the Mahayana Buddhists. On the way to Tawang lies the world's second highest pass – Sela Pass (13700ft) which runs through a small ridge & along a lake called Sela Lake. Visit Jaswant Garh, a memorial to the brave soldier who single handedly tried to stop the approaching Chinese from the pass during the 1962 Indo-Chinese war. On arrival check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at Tawang.

After breakfast proceed to Dirang (4,910 ft.). On the way enjoy the beauty and majesty of Nuranng Water Fall. Dirang is famous for hot water springs where people take bath to cure skin ailments. Places worth visiting here are the Apple & Kiwi Garden depending upon the season, Dirang Monastery and Kalachakra Monastery. Overnight stay at Dirang.

  • In Arunachal Pradesh no star category hotels are available. Hence we have given only one category (Deluxe) in our Arunachal package with best available hotels in that region.

  • Hot water will be supplied on time basis – morning & evening.

  • Nameri -  Nameri National Park is a national park located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in the Sonitpur District of Assam, India, about 35 kilometres from Tezpur.This park being full of rivers.Fishing is the famous activity which is held by forest department.

Shopping And Entertainment

Guwahati- Shopping in Guwahati includes buying Muga, Pat and Endi silks; bamboo and cane decorative items. There are plenty of government emporiums that sell these at reasonable prices. The main shopping areas are Paltan Bazaar, GNB Road and Fancy Bazaar.

Arunachal Pradesh- A land of rich cultural heritage, Arunachal Pradesh is a shoppers' paradise as the state offers a diverse shopping experience to its visitors. The markets of Pasighat and Itanagar are the main destinations for shopping in Arunachal Pradesh. The Arunachal Pradesh State Government Emporia offer a range of decorative items and souvenirs reflecting a culture rich in cane and bamboo handicrafts, wood carvings and woven carpets. Masks made of papier mache or wood are other favorite items among tourists. While shopping in Arunachal Pradesh don't forget to buy bead ornaments and woven grass necklaces, as they are unique to the region. Do look out for Monpa wood dishes, Sherdukpen shawls, Apatani Jackets, scarves and Adi skirts as well. The most beautiful souvenir to carry back home though would be the richly-coloured Thangkas of various Buddhist deities, adorning the monasteries and Lhagangs or family chapels of Arunachal Pradesh.

Money- The currency of India is Indian Rupees (INR). The currency exchange departments are present in almost every Indian city. You can also exchange your currency in 5 star and 4 star hotels, no other currency is valid except for Indian currency (INR).

Best time to Visit- Arunachal Pradesh has good weather between October and April, when the temperatures are cool in the plains with it getting colder in the higher regions of the state.

Travel Kit- Guests travelling to Arunachal are advised to carry light woolen clothes during summers and heavy woolen clothes during winters.

Language- The most commonly spoken languages in Arunachal Pradesh are Dafla, Mishri, Adi Gallong, Monpa, Aka, Nocte, Khamti, Nishi, Wancho and Tagin. Other than these tribal languages, residents of Arunachal Pradesh also speak Hindi, Deori, Assamese and English.

Cuisine- Cuisine of Arunachal Pradesh varies as per the region, as there is a lot of tribal influence in the food of Arunachal Pradesh. Non vegetarian is a preferred choice here and the food is cooked with minimum spices thus making it bland. Rice is the staple food of the state and people have it with meat, fish and vegetables. Apang or rice beer is a popular alcoholic drink in Arunachal Pradesh, which is made from fermented rice or millet.

Drugs- Heavy penalties including imprisonment for possession of narcotic drugs.

Temple Codes- At the monasteries, women should avoid wearing shorts and skimpy tops; likewise, men should wear trousers and shirts at monasteries.

Smoking- Smoking is banned in public places.

Festivals and Fairs in Arunachal Pradesh - Festivals are an essential part of the socio-cultural life of the people. Some of the important festivals are Mopin and Solung of the Adis, Lossor of the Monpas, Sherdukpens and Boori-Boot of the Hill Miris, Dree of the Apatanis, Si-donyi of the Tagins, Nyokum of the Nishis, Reh of the ldu Mishimisand and many more. Animal sacrifice to appease the Gods is a common ritual in most festivals. The tribals express their happiness in many dance festivals. Prominent among them are Dhol Cholom, which is performed to welcome the advent of spring.
