Getting There
By Air

The three major bus stands in Delhi are Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) at Kashmiri Gate, Sarai Kale-Khan Bus Terminus and Anand Vihar Bus Terminus. Day 1
Drive Haridwar To Joshimath (Approx 9Hrs)

The drive takes one into the rugged country of the Garhwal along the Alaknanda river. Going past a few holy confluences and the road keeps ascending to the small township of Joshimath, which is the base for the Indian Army and the Indian Tibet Border police for this area. Overnight stay at Joshimath.

Day 2
Joshimath To Gorson

Post breakfast drive 14kms to Auli. From Auli one gets to see a distinct profile of Nanda Devi at the head of the sanctuary. The walk takes one through the forests of oak and rhododendron to reach meadows of Gorson. We camp at Gorson, and go for afternoon walk to explore the vast meadows of Gorson. Overnight camp.

Day 3
Gorson- Tali

Post breakfast carry on towards Tali. The trail climbs diagnolly up on the Gorson Bugyal and then descends steepily down to the forest. We camp a little ahead of a small water body at Tali. Overnight Camp.

Day 4
Tali to Khulara Via Kuari Pass (Approx 6Hrs)

Today the trail ascends the ridge above Tali and cairns marks our track. Just below the pass, the trail leads through a large meadow affording spectacular views of the Himalayas. Overnight camp at Khulara.

Day 5
Khulara Base Camp – Advanced Base Camp (Approx 4Hrs)

After breakfast get ready in your climbing gear and start plodding up towards the high camp. Most of the walk goes on a moderate gradient on the snow covered North face of the mountain slopes with great views of the high mountains on the. A short traverse will bring us to the advanced base camp.

Day 6
Advanced Base Camp - Summit - Khulara Base Camp (Approx 4Hrs)

Wake up early to be up on the summit to see the sunrise on wide Himalayan panorama. Loads of photo opportunity ! The walk up to the summit would take a couple of hours and we descend to be in time for hot lunch at baSe camp. Evening party !!!

Day 7
Khulara– Tapovan (Approx 5Hrs) and Drive To Pipalkoti

The last day of the climb is all the way down to the Tapovan. It’s about 3 hours drive from here to the comforts of the hotel in Pipalkoti.

Day 8
Pipalkoti – Delhi

After an early morning breakfast set out for the long 8 hr drive to reach Haridwar in the evening to board the evening Shatabdi Express leaving at 6:10 pm to be back in Delhi by 10:45 pm. Trip ends with wonderful memories.

  • If cancellation takes place less than 30 days prior to departure, 100% of the tour price will be forfeited.

Jyotirmath, also known as Joshimath is a city and a municipal board in Chamoli District in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.

Tapovan The most well known tapovan in India is the area above the Gangotri Glacier at one of the primary sources of the Ganges, in Uttarakhand, India. At the foot of Shivling peak, a barren area at about 4,463m (14640 feet) elevation, is a seasonal home to several sadhus living in caves, huts etc. and it has become a trekking destination also.
